Our Passion Shines

Hi! I’m Bethany — baker, cake artist, and founder of Bethany’s Bakery. My love for baking started way back in childhood, making Betty Crocker Cake mix, and Christmas Cookies with my sister. That sweet obsession turned into a full-blown passion, which led me to the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont and a dream-come-true internship at The Bankery in Skowhegan, Maine. I stayed there for five years, sharpening my skills and discovering how much joy a beautifully baked treat can bring.

In 2021, I opened my own shop right here in Maryland. What started as a cozy little bakery quickly grew into something bigger — a space for celebration, creativity, and connection. We’ve made wedding cakes, baby shower cookies, sassy birthday treats, and everything in between. Our mission is sweeter than ever:

Hi, I’m Juvon “Juvie”, Executive Pastry Chef of Bethany's Bakery.

My passion for baking began in Baltimore, inspired by time spent in the kitchen with my family. I went on to earn degrees in Professional Cooking & Baking and Hospitality/Business Management, while gaining experience with Food Network-recognized companies. Every pastry, cake, and bread I make is crafted with creativity, heart, and an artistic touch—because I believe food should taste as amazing as it looks!

Hi, I'm Alyssa, the Assistant Baker at Bethany's Bakery. I

joined right out of high school and quickly became an essential part of our team. My love for baking started at home, helping my mom prepare sweet treats for the holidays—a tradition that sparked her passion for creating from-scratch desserts.

At the bakery, I pour that same joy and care into every item I help make, from cookies to cakes and everything in between. My dream is to one day open my very own bakery.

Esther Torres

Hi, I’m Esther Bae Torres, Manager here at Bethany’s Bakery. I specialize in Marketing and Business Management, but what I love most about working here is the chance to unleash my creative side. From renovating the look of the bakery to revamping our internal aesthetics, this job has been such an amazing and rewarding journey.

I float around the bakery chatting with our daily regulars and help new visitors find their favorite treats, and bringing warmth and personality to the bakery.
